Western Shootout - Documentation
For our Western Shootout we had both Jordi and Rob star in it with both having their own prop weapon. We choose to shoot all of the scenes on the field in the college grounds where we had a section surrounded by bushes which it was all shot.So far we have recorded each scene in our short film, with retakes of certain ones. Since Jordi was absent the next day we were unable to do any re-shoots.
Pre-shooting each scene, we as a group had organised how we wanted each part of the scenes to work out. We had not put together a storyboard of how it should have went but we had all agreed-ed beforehand how we wanted it to be shot. On the day we choose to film the scenes, Alex was our director and told Jordi and Rob how they needed to portray themselves in each scene, including ones in which we had close-ups of there face and eyes.
We scripted the scenes to follow the order of Jordi and Rob separately walking towards each other, following up with the pair bumping shoulders. this is where we had the close ups of each of them, cutting between the two while slowly showing more of their faces then later revealing their weapons of choice. The film then ends with the pair facing of, leading to a shootout with Jordi being the one to lose.
The equipment we choose to use for our short film was a tri-pod, microphone and camera, with the camera and tri-pod being of Leons own possession and the microphones being of the colleges possession.

What went well for our short film was we managed to film everything that we needed in 1 ples son, including a couple of reshoots for certain scenes.
WHat could have been better was that we could have gotten reshoots for every scene we filmed, but Jordi was absent the next day and we had ran out of time in the lesson to get any before having to return the equipment borrowed to film.
For next time we should plan every scene more thoroughly Before shooting anything and everyone should be present for any reshoots needed.
WE chose to use close-up and extreme close-up shots to potray the feud between our two characters, Jordi and Robert. Our use of mid level shots allowed us to show the difference ion statiurer between then pair, especially in their scenes of aiming by heir weapons of choice at one another. Then, our OTS shots that we took allowed us to show the perspective of each of them as they grew closer to one at her and before they then collided in a later scene. In the entirety of the short film, we only used single and double shots as we only had Jordi and Rob being the character4s rob have a western gun fight. One shot we could have and probably should have used was a establishing shot to show where we chose to film, which ended being the field in Bede Campus grounds.
For the next project done either individually or as a group, io think we need to work on our planning and execution a bit Moore, as we weren’t as prepared as we could have been.
